Kirkland, Illinois is a very small town of less than 2000 people but they sure have an active Lions Club. Felix and Fingers played for this Kirkland Lions Club Show recently and it was a huge success.
Kirkland Lions Club Show
You will find the town of Kirkland in Northern Illinois. It is a lovely little town and we felt at home right away. Our show took place in the Franklin Township park on an outdoor festival stage. It was an earlier time slot than we’re used to but we still rocked it. We were right outside the beer tent and our show went on just before the yard games competition. Everyone was getting ready to win the day and our music put them in just the right mood to do so. We found our hosts, the Kirkland Lions Club, to be very gracious and welcoming. Mostly Country in the Country
Perhaps it was because we were out in the country, but we had a ton of country music requests. We, of course, obliged. Lee Greenwood’s Dixie Road, Chicken Fried by The Zac Brown Band, and Faith Hill’s This Kiss were among the songs we played. Whenever we have a lot of country requests we know we’ll be playing Garth Brooks I Got Friends and this show was no different. It’s such a fun song and we love having everyone sing along with us. And everyone always knows the words. This was a community event and the whole town was out. These small town community events are always such a great time. We truly enjoyed playing for this group in Kirkland at the Kirkland Lions Club Show. In addition, we brought in a ton of tips with our show and then donated it all back to the Lions Club.
