Felix and Fingers made an epic return to the Kickapoo Creek Winery this weekend as Greg and I headed down there for a Dueling Pianos show! Mike and I had actually been to the Kickapoo Creek Winery earlier this year for a wedding (read about it here!) and the place makes for a GORGEOUS wedding venue. I was excited to return this time with Greg to experience firsthand some of the other events they have going on all the time! The place was completely transformed for a very festive Halloween theme, and guests of all ages (over 21 at least) enjoyed an amazing buffet for a fun-filled dinner-and-a-show type evening!
Events at Kickapoo Creek Winery
I would qualify just showing up and looking around at the Kickapoo Creek Winery as an event in and of itself. This place is beautiful- inside and outside! It seemed like a great place to come and enjoy a glass of wine outside on their patio when we were there in the summer for a wedding, but it was equally beautiful in the fall! The leaves changing and already scenic views made for the perfect atmosphere to kick back, relax and have a great time. Along with weddings and private events suited well for their sizable banquet room, they are always hosting wine tastings, trivia nights and other fun events. We were thrilled to be part of what we hope will be a regular occurrence- a dueling show aimed at getting guests to have a great time singing, dancing and laughing along while enjoying a nice glass of wine!
A Different Show Each Time…
One of my favorite things about dueling is that every time we play, it’s a different show. That’s because we cater directly to the audience we’re playing for by taking requests and reading the situation every way we know how to. Tickets for this event at the Kickapoo Creek Winery were open to anyone interested, so naturally this particular crowd was very diverse. One might think this would normally make for a difficult crowd to read, but they made it clear from the beginning they were united in a few common goals: to sing along to anything recognizable, to enjoy their evening, and to get some sick and twisted pleasure out of trying to embarrass us. (Let’s just say I was goaded into doing a certain Lonely Island tune of which I’m not necessarily proud.) By the end, I’m not sure who had more fun, us or the crowd!
No matter what the occasion, the Kickapoo Creek Winery in Edwards, IL is a great place to unwind with friends, family, or even a fun date night. Personally I can’t wait till the next time I get to visit, and if you haven’t been yourself it is a must-see if you’re anywhere near the Peoria area!
