After being invited to play a stunning wedding here at the beginning of the year, Felix and Fingers (along with the “Fox” this time) returned to Starline Factory in Harvard, IL (McHenry County) to make sure another excited and love-struck couple had a memorable and life-changing experience on their special day. Upon arrival, it really does look like you might be walking into a turn of the century factory expecting to see dozens of workers at their post. Alas, we opened the doors to reveal one of the most naturally beautiful wedding venues that we have had the pleasure of playing to. Extensive renovation with classic touches bring a feeling of warmth and joy to the HUGE space that can only leave you saying, “wow.”

We had been hired to play cocktails through the end of the night. The cocktail area at Starline factory came complete with a quaint bar and very knowledgeable bartender, high top tables for hors d’oeuvres, and large comfortable chairs and couches for mingling and reminiscing while we DJ’ed some background Jazz music. Soon after, guests started making their way into the large dining hall to find their seats for dinner. It seemed to be a game for the children to figure out who got to sit where and it was quite a joy to observe! Luckily, we were set up next to the head table which gave us a real opportunity to give the wedding party and newlyweds a front row seat to our live music played during dinner. Then, as anyone who has ever seen a Felix and Fingers Dueling show knows, the party starts when the lights go down, the special dances have been enjoyed, and volume goes up!
The Fox and I played just about every genre of music we could think of after the requests started to flow in. Classic rock, modern rock and pop, country, jazz, club tunes, and yes, even rap! The large dance floor area gave just the right amount of room for everyone to let loose and boogie with each other for the entire rest of the night.
Starline Factory a Beautiful McHenry County Venue
If I had to recommend a perfect venue to hold a wedding, corporate party, or any kind of private event, the Starline Factory in Harvard would certainly be near the top of my list. The astounding architecture and modeling of the building, coupled with the exceptional professionalism of the staff working there makes this a Felix and Fingers McHenry County “favorite” for anyone that books their event here. We have had a blast playing at this beautiful place, and we would certainly love to return again and again.
