Felix and Fingers always thinks we’ve seen it all but then something happens and we say, “Now, we’ve seen it all.” That was the case with the Harvard Farm Wedding of Shannon and Brian. How lucky these two are with family and friends that let loose and danced in the rain with them.
Harvard Farm Wedding
The Harvard farm wedding outside of the charming town of Harvard, Illinois took place on a horse training farm. It was a large tent wedding right in the center of the training track. Trucks filled with ice and beer made for a great cooler by the serve your own bar station. Sound fun? Hmmm, well, it ended up being just fine. Our day started by trying to set up amidst a rain storm of monsoon proportions. Everyone was soaked. We finally got it all together and went on to play a great show but there were a few hiccups.
For starters, the ground was a muddy mess. So even though we were covered overhead, there was no escaping the mud. The dance floor was literally sinking in it! And so were the tables and chairs. So what did this group do? Instead of complaining, they took off their shoes, rolled up pants and hiked up dresses, and went ahead and danced in the mud and rain. This is how you know you have an awesome family and friends. If they’re willing to wallow in the muck for you, you must be loved.
A Down Home Country Wedding
Even with the weather, this group was intent on having a great time. And that is exactly what they did. It was truly a down home country wedding complete with mud, trucks, and beer! Truly, we’re not sure if we’ve ever seen people having so much fun. Who knew that mud dancing put people in the mood to get wild and crazy?! This Harvard farm wedding party knew how to rock it and wanted to hear upbeat country music as well as some classic rock. What a great night we had, even though it took us a while to clean up.
