The Coal City Community event took place in the town’s Campbell Memorial Park. Felix and Fingers watched a beautiful day turn in to a gorgeous evening as we sang under the gazebo.
Coal City Community Event
You can find the small town of Coal City in Grundy County, Illinois. With a population of just over 10,000, you will be sure to notice the warm and friendly feel that can only come from towns of this size. We couldn’t have been happier that they invited us to perform at their community event. And we’re pretty sure the feeling was reciprocal because they told us that it was the most successful community event they had sponsored. Wow! That was a great compliment! We knew everyone was having a great time as they stayed until the very end. Even the little ones. We hope to soon return to this friendly town for another successful engagement. Trains, Moths, and More
Since Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos plays all sorts of events, both indoors and outdoors, we’ve seen or experienced just about everything. And this experience means that we’re also quite adept at handling these unforeseen circumstances. Our show began very well and was going along fine until the train came through. Yes, we were super close to the train tracks and throughout our show, we had to compete with it’s noise. But no problem for our pros! With their humor and spontaneity, they turned it into something fun.
Our performers were Greg and Jim and as they went about the show, making room for the train, Greg was surprised when a moth flew in his mouth. The lights under the town’s gazebo were attracting them and Greg was right in mid song when this happened. The guys had a riot with this and turned it into another hilarious moment of the show.
