Salvage One Wedding Event Chicago
If you’re leaning towards concrete and brick instead of chandeliers and mason jars, then Salvage One is up your alley. Felix and Fingers have played a few shows at Salvage One. This is one UNIQUE antiques re-seller. One of the advantages of renting a warehouse is that the large, open floor plan, can accommodate lots of guests. The Salvage One wedding event hosted an incredible indoor/outdoor garden party on a perfect summer evening.
Our performers for this event were Mike Potts and Greg Percifield. The bride and groom used the venue’s antique church pews for their ceremony and it was a cool set up. The bride walked down the aisle in vintage style. With Greek columns framing the ceremony space, Kelly and Gary exchanged vows under a glittering chandelier. Felix and Fingers played light instrumental music during an unforgettable romantic ceremony.
As guests slowly left the ceremony and moved their way to the courtyard, Salvage One staff kept the day in order. With walls of ivy and exposed brick, guests mingled, enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and wound down before the party started. Mike and Greg had Full Shells on their pianos and they looked amazing on stage. In all honesty, this is really an incredible venue to play. Everywhere you looked there were incredible antiques rounding out the venue space.
Cocktails were on the first floor of the warehouse and outdoors in the courtyard. Felix and Fingers love their wireless speaker system. We placed one speaker in the courtyard and kept one indoors so everyone could enjoy our show. As a matter of fact, it made us happy to see guests dancing to Stay With Me by Sam Smith on the patio grounds to an amazing sunset.
Dance, Sing and Tattoos
Felix and Fingers created the perfect ambiance for the bride and groom’s entrance. Songs such as I Do by Colbie Caillat and L-O-V-E by Joss Stone set a great vibe to the reception party. After the wedding party entered and everyone was announced, Kelly and Gary held their first dance to I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. It was a beautiful moment. Eventually, speeches and well wishes were given while Mike and Greg played a lovely variety of instrumental jazz. Mike and Greg have enjoyed many wedding dinners over the years, but this event’s meal was delicious. A perfectly grilled NY strip backed up to the largest baked potato we’ve ever seen. We were in steak heaven!
Now was the time to get our audience to find their groove and get silly on the dance floor. The Salvage One wedding event turned into a HUGE party right after a groomsman caught the bouquet. And if the guests didn’t show off their dance moves in the first hour, they certainly did now. Our performers played an awesome version of Brick House by The Commodores and guests PACKED the floor.
As part of our interactive show, we split the room into females on right, males on left and a sing off had the crowd breathless. Who knew Despacito by Luis Fonzi would be so much fun that even Salvage staff got in on it towards the end! Did we mention the groom had a tattoo of a bell inked on his ring finger? Gary bravely proclaimed his love for his bride “Kel-Bell” immediately after the ceremony. As a matter of fact, this was one of the COOLEST things we’ve seen at a wedding!
