For this Hairpin Arts Center Wedding, Felix and Fingers headed to the historic Morris B. Sach’s building bordering the Chicago neighborhoods of Avondale and Logan Square.  We loved the awesome neighborhood views from the venue’s wall to wall windows.  Congratulations Marguerite and David!

What an amazingly unique venue.  The Hairpin Arts Center is a community arts center offering year round cultural and art programs.  The art center is on the second floor of what is now called the Hairpin Lofts.  Originally built in 1930 but had fallen into disrepair, the historic building was recently revitalized.  Focusing on historic preservation, the revitalization brings a vibrant community resource to a renewed future.  We loved this venue, even though the Cha Cha Slide took on a new meaning in its super cool triangular shape!  The modern and eclectic space is available for event rentals and you can find that information by clicking here.

Chicago Style Wedding

Hairpin Arts Center Wedding dessert tableYou know it’s a Chicago wedding when the catering comes from Portillo’s.  We loved that take on a wedding dinner and hope to run into it more often.  Check out Portillo’s catering menu by clicking here.  Delicious!  Instead of a wedding cake for dessert, there were adorable cake pops in four delectable flavors.  We can attest to how good they were because we had to try all four.  Another unique idea for this Hairpin Arts Center wedding was the bride’s choice of dress.  She chose a STUNNING gray lace dress with sequin embellishments.  Ooh la la, c’est si belle!

The wedding guests came from all over the country and had a wide range of musical tastes.  This always makes for some great and diverse requests.  We loved when one of the bridesmaids sang a beautiful rendition of Make You Feel My Love by Adele.  And our performer, Chris, did an excellent job as her accompaniment.  We also DJ-ed a gang sing of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody which was a huge hit.  What a fun Hairpin Arts Center Wedding guestsnight we had watching all of the guests sing and dance the night away.  Always a party when Felix is in the house!
