The Standard Club in Chicago, Illinois was the host for this year’s ESD holiday celebration. In addition, it was also the company’s 50th anniversary. Felix and Fingers performers Jim and Robert were impressed by this lively crowd of coworkers.
ESD Holiday Celebration
ESD, or Environmental Systems Design, Inc. made a wonderful choice in selecting the Standard Club for the ESD holiday celebration. They went all out for this special year. Since it was also the company’s 50th anniversary, there was plenty to celebrate. It was truly a special night. The CEO began the evening with a heartwarming speech that honored current and former employees as well as his parents for starting this firm. Many of the honorees have been with ESD since the 1960’s. As the evening went on, it was highly noticeable that there is a strong bond between the employees of this company. Seems like an excellent place to work. As the guests listened to the CEO’s speech, they also enjoyed cocktails in the Standard Club’s Old Chicago era party hall. Following the cocktail hour, we headed a couple of floors up to the main reception room. The Standard Club is one of Chicago’s most historic buildings. It is almost like going back in time when you enter. The ballroom had a distinct vintage feel with its wooden dance floor and the theater style stage for our performers. A fully stocked bar is also available and just adds to the Old Chicago feel.
This is probably one of the best meals at a corporate event that we have experienced. We began with a beautiful salad complimented with spiced apples, goat cheese and candied walnuts. Absolutely divine! This was followed by an excellently prepared beef tenderloin. Jim and Robert were very happy entertainers with this meal at the ESD holiday celebration. A Company Celebration
As we stated earlier, we could tell that this was a close knit group. It was great to see so many employees and their significant others partying together on the dance floor. And the dance floor was packed! This was a very fun group of guests with some excellent and unique dance moves. The enthusiasm was contagious and the party didn’t stop. So much fun! Jim and Robert received a lot of 90’s music requests and had no problem as those always seem to get people in the dancing mood. We played everything from Dr. Dre’s Nothin’ But a “G” Thang to Destiny Child’s Say My Name. Everyone had a blast and will be talking about this party for a long, long time.
