This Bureau County Memorial Celebration is one of the most memorable events we’ve ever had. Felix and Fingers performers Terrell and Jake were off to Princeton, Illinois to play for the friends and family of a local legend, Roger Kramer.

The Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton, Illinois is a wonderfully expansive property with plenty of rustic space for your downhome event. Our contact was incredibly helpful and we couldn’t have been more pleased. One of the exhibit halls was the perfect size for our Remembering Roger memorial

Our Bureau County Memorial Celebration was all about Remembering Roger. Roger Kramer was a local man who dedicated decades of his life to community service, FFA leadership, and also ran a catering business that was hugely popular with so many in the area. This was the type of send off that Roger would have loved and so we made sure to make it a good one. Not only did everyone have a blast dancing and singing in his honor, we also helped raise a ton of money for his family. This mostly came from one of the greatest, perhaps the greatest, dessert auctions we have ever seen. Roger’s widow baked a delicious looking batch of cupcakes and those alone went for $1,300! What a night!
Incredible Sense of Community and Wonderful Tributes
Jake and Terrell felt so special being a part of this Remembering Roger Bureau County Memorial Celebration. The sense of community we witnessed was incredibly touching. We were beyond moved when hearing what everyone had to say in Roger’s memory. But even though this was all about Roger, the organizers of the event made sure we felt special too. They had seen us at an event a couple of months earlier. They remembered us fondly and made sure we knew it. That type of feedback always makes us feel good. Our reputation is what keeps our customers coming back and that’s everything to us.
Terrell began by laying down some soft and sultry chords with incredible melodies from Stevie Wonder such as You Are the Sunshine of My Life and My Cherie Amour. Jake blew everyone away with his rendition of Jerry Lee Lewis’ Great Balls of Fire, especially when he plays it with his feet! Carole King’s You’ve Got a Friend brought tears to the eyes of many and the whole community was together for We Are Family from Sister Sledge. It was a memorable and special night indeed.
