Illinois Wesleyan University Wedding Event Bloomington
Pamela and TJ celebrated their wedding day on the grounds of Illinois Wesleyan University, and it was the perfect setting for their special day. The bride and groom were married in the Joslin Atrium with views overlooking the Robert S. Eckley Quadrangle. This was a stunning, big beautiful glass space with amazing acoustics. Our performers for the Illinois Wesleyan University wedding event were Duncan Parker and Mike Sherman. As the bride made her entrance, Felix and Fingers played a traditional wedding march as friends and family stood and acknowledged the bride lovingly.
The fact that the atrium was connected to the Young Main Lounge (reception ballroom) was a huge convenience. With drinks and appetizers in hand, guests brought us song requests such as Honey Bee by Blake Shelton to kick off cocktail hour. It worked! We followed up with Loving You Easy by The Zac Brown Band keeping the dance floor packed.
Happy Birthday and Chicken Dancing
A first dance is not only romantic, but it reflects on the bride and groom’s love for each other with choice of song and choreography. When it was time for first dances, our performers played them live. As a matter of fact, Felix and Fingers perform a ton of FUN songs for first dances. The fact that Pamela and TJ had chosen Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker had us ELATED because we had guests singing along as they were dancing. Furthermore, Pamela and TJ held a combination mother/son/father/daughter dance and it was really cool!
The Illinois Wesleyan University wedding event was the ultimate party as it happened to be the groom’s birthday. Felix and Fingers are all about making our audience feel special, so right before a delicious steak dinner, everyone sang Happy Birthday to the groom. By the time we finished, he was smiling from ear to ear. All throughout the evening attentive and professional staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.
Even though it’s usually on the “Do Not Play” list, we had a special request to play this song right after cake cutting. Surprisingly, The Chicken Dance by Werner Thomas had a large number of guests participating, laughing and having a great time. As the evening continued we noticed our tip jar starting to overflow. This made us very happy. Felix and Fingers donated ALL their tips to Saint Jude. We LOVE raising money for this or any cause at weddings!
