Felix and Fingers kept students on their feet during a high-energy, Donald L Tucker Civic Center fundraiser and dance-off event. Our performers, Brandon Parsons and Tod Kimbro packed up their gear and drove out to Tallahassee, Florida. Upon arriving at this civic center, friendly staff greeted us at the door and helped unload our gear. This dance-off is an annual fundraiser that culminates with a 40-hour event. In fact, this was a fundraiser for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, which is Tallahassee’s local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. This was one EPIC gig!

Donald L Tucker Civic Center Fundraiser Tallahassee Florida

Donald L Tucker Civic Center FundraiserThere was SO MUCH ENERGY from kids raising money for kids in this hospital that in all honesty, we were BLOWN away. Brandon and Tod performed 2 different shows filled with FUN dance tunes and sing-a-longs!

The Donald L Tucker Civic Center was the PERFECT venue to hold this event. Held at the FSU civic center, more than 1,800 students stayed awake on their feet to raise money and awareness. This center offers many available areas including meeting rooms and exhibition halls. If you’d like further information on the Donald L Tucker Civic Center please click here.

The nighttime crowd at this fundraiser was literally screaming for more. Felix and Fingers fired up their pianos and had the arena floor PACKED. From the first note of Truth Hurts by Lizzo to everyone jumping and yelling Shout! by the Isley Brothers, this dance marathon was FUN. A hat tip to the coordinators of this event. A very professional staff had the entire timeline planned out from start to finish. Hence, the Donald L Tucker Civic Center fundraiser was smooth and successful.

Miracle Kid Performances

Donald L Tucker Civic Center FundraiserFelix and Fingers had this crowd of 1,000 kids dancing and singing all night long. In fact, Brandon and Tod gathered everyone together in this arena to sing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Not only did our crowd wave their flashlights back and forth, but they sang at the top of their lungs. Everyone sounded AWESOME!

Oh, did we mention there was a GIANT JUMBO-TRON screen behind us playing videos and snippets from past year’s events? This background recap made us feel so important in helping raise funds!

The stories from Miracle Network children and their families were actually beautiful and moving. This block of time spent listening to all the wonderful miracles made the gig much more beautifully transcendent. To tell the truth, it was pretty amazing.

There were also a few cool side acts that had us intrigued. We’ve never followed a hypnotist with our show before. Brandon and Tod may or may not have been clucking like chickens when sitting down to play. Above all, we had a Miracle Child named Aoden come up and play the piano after our show. Aoden put on quite a shimmy during Rachel Platton’s Fight Song. He danced like a PRO!
