Felix and Fingers recently had the honor of dueling at a Davis Islands Garden wedding in Tampa, FL. Filled with dancing and good music, the night was magical. Davis Islands Garden Club made a stunning backdrop for this quaint couple. If you would like to learn more about the club, please visit their website by clicking here!

Davis Islands Garden Wedding

davis islands garden weddingHeld beneath a towering oak tree, this Davis Islands Garden wedding was a sight to see. Before playing at the reception, we had a chance to look around this intimate space. Each decoration held personal touches for the couple, specifically the center pieces. With the tables numbered one through 15, the center pieces consisted of flowers, candles, and photos of the couple at the age that corresponds with the table number. For example, if we were to sit at table four, it would have pictures of the couple when they were four years old.

Besides the center pieces, the space was only decorated with fabric draped from the outer part of the ceiling to the center chandelier. This made the room feel even more inviting. As guests filed in after the ceremony, we overheard lots of raving comments about the flowers and stunning view of the bay from the large window on one side of the room.

A Night of Unique Moments

Next came the speeches from the bride’s father, the best man, and the maid of honor. The father emphasized how much her family loved the groom, even from the first time they met him. The best man used humor to tell the couple’s love story. Finally, in lieu of a speech, the maid of honor sang I Say a Little Prayer by Dionne Warwick with her own twist on the lyrics. The guests joined in on the choruses, and we were touched by the sentiment.

Once the speeches were done, cater staff served dinner, and we began our set. We were so surprised when guests began dancing before they finished their desserts! Everyone wanted the chance to show off their dance moves, especially the ones reserved specifically for weddings. One woman said she only brings out “the bernie” when she attends weddings. Once the couple had danced with their guests, they were sent off on a boat on Tampa Bay, ending the night by lighting up the harbor. We all celebrated with one last dance and then said farewell to a touching evening. Felix and Fingers are thankful for this opportunity and wish the couple all the happiness in the world.
